Rick Baldock

Rick is the current Australian Council for Health Physical Education and Recreation (SA) (ACHPER) Branch Professional Learning Coordinator and works at Flinders University as a casual staff member teaching HPE Curriculum Studies. He is also a Director on the Board of Tennis SA and Chair of the Tennis SA  Ken McGregor Foundation, Rick is also the immediate past President of the Council of Educational Associations South Australia (CEASA) and is Secretary of the Australian Professional Teachers Association and a Board member of Eventive.

After a distinguished career as a primary PE and class teacher and then Department of Education Health & Physical Education (HPE) Curriculum and Policy Officer, Policy and Program Officer, Physical Activity in the South Australian Department for Education and Child Development Rick also managed a primary school healthy weight project from 2009-2013.
Rick has also led a small team in the development of a Physical Education curriculum in the Arabian Gulf State of Qatar in 2008. He has also worked at the University of SA commercialising research.

He has co-authored and authored a number of publications including the Sport It fundamental sport skill resource, the ACHPER PEP Fitness resource and the Tennis Australia Hot Shots in Schools program. He is a regular presenter both internationally and nationally on various aspects of HPE and sport.

Rick is also the current editor of the Active and Healthy Magazine and a Life Member of ACHPER.
