In this workshop, participants will engage in mass practice to master key skills in American football, specifically focusing on throwing a spiral as a quarterback and running routes as a receiver.
Key Components:
- Throwing Technique: Participants will learn the mechanics of throwing a football with a spiral, emphasizing grip, stance, and follow-through.
- Route Running: Receivers will practice running specific routes, focusing on timing and precision to catch the ball effectively.
- Non-Verbal Communication: Communication is crucial in American football. This workshop will highlight the importance of non-verbal cues between coaches and players. Participants will learn to decipher and use hand signals to communicate plays, ensuring clarity and efficiency on the field.
My teaching environment at SOIS: With a classroom comprised of 90% non-English speakers, the class is delivered entirely in English. I have found that students remain engaged and comprehend the requirements effectively, showcasing the power of clear demonstrations and non-verbal communication techniques.
This interactive and skill-building workshop aims to foster teamwork and understanding in a fun, supportive atmosphere while developing essential football skills.
