Weight stigma can quietly shape how both teachers and students experience Health and Physical Education, influencing self-esteem, participation, and long-term wellbeing. In this session, we’ll explore how weight bias affects teaching practices and student outcomes, and how to recognise and challenge these biases to foster school environments that embrace body diversity. Through practical strategies, curriculum reflection, and real-world scenarios, participants will leave with tools to promote health without shame and support all students in feeling safe, seen, and valued.
