Erin Witthoft
Erin has over 15 years of experience in education and curriculum development and joins UWCSEA as the Head of Curriculum Development and Research across the college in a dual campus role. Prior to joining UWCSEA, Erin spent eight years working in Kuwait as an educator, K-12 curriculum coordinator, and an instructional coach. Before living overseas, Erin started her teaching career in Colorado as a middle school math teacher and district curriculum writer and was involved in local Community Youth Work. Erin is passionate about partnering with teachers, students, alumni, and other partners to develop ethical curricula. When working to facilitate the development of a curriculum, Erin, places a high priority on the process so that the end product is a true reflection of the values and beliefs of the organization. The mark of a good curriculum impacts not just the teachers and students, but the families and the planet so that everyone will reap the benefits for years. Erin holds a Master’s Degree from Concordia University in Curriculum Design with a focus in Mathematics Curriculum Design. She also has a Principal's Certificate from University of Cincinnati and is a certified independent trainer in Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction. Erin earned an undergraduate degree from Hiram College in Middle Childhood Education with a focus in Social Studies, Mathematics, and a special reading endorsement. Erin and her husband, Andrew, have two children Lucas and Emma. As a family they can be found together making memories cycling, visiting the beach, or with a good book in each of their hands.
