This session draws from David’s research on the assessment practices of Australian secondary school PE teachers, specifically in the context of invasion games and sports.
Join us for an engaging session that explores experiential learning principles through adaptive tools in movement practices, focusing on various tools to enhance physical literacy and support diverse learning needs.
In an international school setting, some children's mother tongue is not being taught explicitly. In other cases, it is taught as a second language. How could international schools address the importance of promoting the mother tongue of all of their students?
This session will particularly benefit PE specialists looking to deepen their subject knowledge, enhance their lesson delivery, and build a comprehensive approach to teaching gymnastics across key stages.
In this workshop, we will take a skills-based approach to a traditional ATOD unit.
A hands-on workshop designed specifically for Primary PE teachers and coaches who want to elevate their lesson delivery through the layering method, a teaching strategy that breaks skills down into clear, manageable steps, building towards full games or movement sequences.
In the workshop, we begin by looking at a range of hypothetical trip itineraries from this perspective. Which of the trips has a strong narrative and which are missing this opportunity? Discuss how in each case the narrative element - or lack thereof - may affect the overall memorability, excitement and the likely engagement level of the students throughout.
