Basic Psychological Needs Theory (BPNT) is one of the six mini-theories of Self-Determination Theory. BPNT argues that psychological well-being and optimal functioning is predicated on autonomy, competence, and relatedness. This practical workshop will showcase a number of ways that Scott has used BPNT to inform his teaching and learning program to support these needs and contribute to students’ intrinsic motivation to participate in PE.
