Scott Hughes
Scott Hughes is an award-winning specialist Physical Education teacher representing the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) at PHASE Asia-Pacific 2025. Scott has had a diverse teaching career, having taught across Primary Years, Secondary Years, and Higher Education contexts, where he taught in both undergraduate and post-graduate programs in topics related to Physical Education, Sports Coaching, and Motivation, Cognition and Meta-cognition. Scott holds a Master of Education: Cognitive Psychology and Educational Practice, and a Graduate Certificate: Leadership in Education. Scott has a keen interest in Self-Determination Theory and the application of Basic Psychological Needs Theory to Physical Education. Scott contributes to the broader Physical Education community as a mentor and presenter, having also presented at the 5th International Game Sense Conference (2017), the Asia-Pacific Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility Alliance Conference (2022) and over 30 workshops for ACHPER: South Australia.
