Meaningful Volleyball in PE: Activities, Games, Adaptations for Student Engagement

Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in international schools, yet it can be one of the most challenging to teach in a PE class as engagement in the sport often favors those most skilled. In this presentation, we will explore how the Meaningful PE framework can be effectively applied through a range of small-sided games, and modified activities with multiple entry points. We are not all fortunate enough to have full-sized gymnasiums and net set-ups, so practical adaptations for space will be shared, as well as equipment suggestions to better engage our little ones. Participants will leave with ready-to-use activities, teaching cues and unit design ideas that will increase student participation and enjoyment.
