If we recognize that one aspect of becoming “healthy” is action, we must consider the steps one can take to achieve health and well-being. In fact, becoming healthy and well requires deliberate and consistent action and is supported through intentional learning opportunities designed to allow for progression in skill development. In this session, participants will examine the role of skill development, and identify opportunities to ensure that students learn how to implement various skill steps in ways that support health and well-being of themselves and others. Using a skill development model, this session will examine various classroom strategies to ensure that students are able to apply skill steps in ways that support the development of self-efficacy and agency related to health and well-being.
