If you are looking to move, this is the session for you! Come play Capture the Flag, modified CTF, and lead-up activities designed to highlight the process of Decision Making in a physical education class. Experience vertical alignment of CTF activities and concepts from kindergarten to high school.
Our students experience multiple concepts. Focusing on these concepts can drive understanding and improve motivation. Concept-based learning is an efficient way to help our students gain a deeper understanding of:
- What are the skills and strategies
- What these skills and strategies will do
- What the final outcome is
This combination provides the learner with the answer to: why they are doing what they are doing. Through Concept-Based learning, our students focus on the transfer of skills and strategies to build on prior knowledge and increase motivation.
Presentation attendees will discover how to utilize Concept-Based learning in their classrooms through model lessons, interactive activities, and inquiry. Physical participation is not mandatory but will be fun.
