This presentation explores the critical components of movement and positioning in tennis, with a focus on developing these skills across different stages of junior development: Red, Orange, and Green. It emphasizes the importance of teaching balance, proper stances, ball control, and movement patterns to ensure players can effectively cover the court, execute accurate shots, and recover efficiently.
The workshop combines theory with a variety of practical drills tailored to each stage, ensuring players develop movement and positioning skills progressively. Coaches are encouraged to differentiate activities based on skill levels, ensuring engagement and improvement for all participants.
Additionally, the strategies outlined in this presentation can be applied in Physical and Health Education (PHE) lessons for students from Primary School (Grade 1) to Middle School (Grade 8). The concepts and drills are not only suited to tennis but are also highly transferable to pickleball, a fast-growing and increasingly popular game.
