Physical education students experience multiple concepts. Focusing on these concepts can drive understanding and improve motivation. Concept-based learning is an efficient way to help our students gain a deeper understanding of:
- What are the skills and strategies
- What these skills and strategies will do
- What the final outcome is
This combination provides the learner with the answer to: why they are doing what they are doing. Through Concept-Based learning, our students focus on the transfer of skills and strategies to build on prior knowledge and increase motivation.
Presentation attendees will discover how to utilize Concept-Based learning in their classrooms through model units, interactive activities, and inquiry.
