Neil Moggan
Passionate about equipping educators with the tools to empower young people, Neil is dedicated to transforming the life chances of students. As the founder of Future Action and the creator of the ‘RISE Up’ online early intervention mental well-being teacher training course, Neil has had the privilege of supporting over 150 schools in enhancing the well-being of both students and staff. Through innovative approaches and evidence-based strategies, Neil strives to make a lasting impact on the education landscape. Drawing upon his experience and expertise, Neil has developed the ‘Recover’ roadmap, a comprehensive guide to implementing trauma-informed practices in Physical Education. This 7-step framework empowers teachers to create supportive and inclusive environments that nurture the holistic development of young learners. Neil is thrilled to announce the recent publication of his book, in collaboration with Scholarly, exploring the evolution of children's mental health over the past two decades. Titled ‘Time to RISE Up’, this publication sheds light on key issues and proposes actionable solutions, such as early intervention programmes and trauma-informed practices, to catalyse positive change within educational institutions. With a background as a Director of Sport, Health & RSHE, Neil has a proven track record of revitalising PE departments and championing Physical Education as a cornerstone of whole school improvement. Additionally, as an Educational Consultant and Polyvagal Informed Executive Coach, he offers tailored support to school leaders and PE subject leads, empowering them to foster a culture of growth and excellence. Passionate about promoting trauma-informed approaches in the post-lockdown educational landscape, Neil is committed to advocating for the well-being of all students. He has had the honour of speaking at numerous national conferences in the UK, including the Youth Sport Trust (YST) and the Association for Physical Education (afPE) national conferences, where he has shared insights and best practices with educators from across the country.
