The reality is that the majority of the world’s current coaches grew up in a different era. Water was for the weak, coaches were known for their tempers, and athletes were routinely pushed way too hard. Unfortunately, this approach, or pieces of it, is still occurring in today’s international school sports world. Athletics should be an extension of the classroom. We will build an understanding of Education Based Athletics which will help guide us in the development of our personal philosophy of sport.
