As Ultimate Frisbee continues to grow in popularity among students, it has become one of the few sports that allows boys and girls to play together equally on the same field. Beyond physical skills, the Spirit of the Game promotes communication, fair play, respect, self-control, and positive attitudes among students.
Few sports provide this level of inclusiveness, teamwork, and accessibility. Because of its low equipment requirements and strong educational value, Ultimate Frisbee can be an excellent addition to any school curriculum. I strongly believe that introducing Ultimate Frisbee into schools can positively influence students’ behavior, cooperation, and overall performance both on and off the field.
During this session, activities will be adapted to participants’ experience levels, and we will begin with the fundamentals:
- Proper throwing grip
- Backhand and forehand throwing techniques, including common mistakes, why they happen, and effective teaching cues for students
- Catching techniques
- Cutting drills that maximize participation and engagement for all students
- Practical experience and strategies for building successful school Ultimate Frisbee teams
Participants will also receive a range of well-prepared teaching materials that can be immediately brought back to their schools to support engaging and effective Ultimate Frisbee lessons.
