Andy Vasily’s keynote will explore how PE programs can be designed to create the conditions for deep learning and flow. Drawing on research into flow states, differentiation, and assessment-capable learners, his talk will argue that inclusivity isn’t just a value we hold — it’s a structural requirement for flow to happen at all. When programs are built to meet students where they are, students develop the capacity to self-adjust their own learning, which is where sustained engagement and flow become possible.
Andy’s talk touches on the core features of Meaningful PE, but pushes further. Rather than treating meaningfulness as an endpoint, it treats it as a foundation for something deeper — programs where students aren’t just engaged, but are building the self-awareness to know what they need and how to advocate for it.
Andy brings this perspective from over a decade of work with schools in more than 40 countries, where he has coached and mentored teachers and leaders, helping them translate research on flow and meaningful learning into practice in their own programs.
