Andrea Strachan
Andrea has spent over 30 years working in international education and still feels just as passionate about learning today as ever. Currently a Curriculum Coordinator at UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA), Andrea has had the privilege of working in schools around the world, in places that include Bermuda, Canada, China, Cambodia, and Singapore. With a Master’s in Educational Leadership and having engaged in doctoral studies in the area of Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning, Andrea brings both academic insight and practical experience to conversations about innovations in education. She spent many years as an IB workshop leader and consultant, supporting educators and schools across the globe. Her special areas of interest include literacy, early childhood education, personal and social education, and outdoor education. Andrea holds a Certificate of International School Leadership from the Principal’s Training Center, and a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. At the heart of Andrea’s work is a simple belief: that education has the power to change the world. Andrea loves collaborating with fellow educators to explore how we can help every student to flourish —academically, socially, and personally. Outside of work, Andrea enjoys life in Singapore with her husband and their much-loved dog, and stays connected with her two grown children who both work and study in Canada.
