Kate Elkins is a dedicated and passionate Health and Physical Education (HPE) specialist with over a decade of experience shaping the physical and mental well-being of students. Over the past 10 years, she has been committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment where students can develop lifelong fitness habits and a deep understanding of health principles. Kate began her career in education after a successful tenure as an athletic trainer, a role she embraced since 2009. This extensive background in athletic training has equipped her with a profound understanding of sports science, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Her expertise in these areas has been invaluable in the classroom and on the field, where she continues to apply practical knowledge to teach students about maintaining physical health and safety during sports and other physical activities. Kate holds a Bachelor of Science Major in Athletic Training from The University of Tampa and a Master of Science Education/Physical Education/Health/Teaching license from Old Dominion University and is continuously seeking professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest trends and research in health and physical education. This is her 7th year at the American Embassy School of New Delhi as a middle school HPE educator and previously taught 5 years as a high school HPE educator in the Virginia Beach Public Schools district, VA, USA. With a steadfast commitment to education and student wellness, Kate is a cornerstone of the school's health and physical education department, continually inspiring students to lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.
