Kim Criens

Director of Student Life and Co-Curricular Programs, Singapore American School

Kim Criens has been with Singapore American School since 2003 and currently serves in the role of director of student life and co-curricular programs. As the director of student life, he supports all on-campus social-emotional learning as well as the robust co-curricular program at SAS. Kim started his tenure at SAS as a student-teacher in the high school physical education and health department before moving into the role of assistant high school activities and athletics director and most recently as the high school athletics director. Kim holds a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York, a Bachelor of Science degree from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and a Certificate of International School Leadership from the Principals' Training Center. He is currently enrolled in an Education Leadership doctoral program at the University of Southern California. Also a third-culture kid, Kim grew up in Cairo, Egypt, where he lived for 16 years while attending Cairo American College. He serves at SAS alongside his wife Anna Criens (a music teacher in the elementary school) and has three children enrolled throughout the school.
