Louise McCuaig

Head of Pastoral Programs, Matthew Flinders Anglican College

Dr Louise McCuaig currently serves as Head of Pastoral Programs at Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Sunshine Coast Australia. For over 30 years, she has been an educator in Queensland schools and is an Honorary Professor of Health and Physical Education in the School of Human Movement and Nutrition at The University of Queensland. Louise’s research on health literacy and salutogenesis underpinned the development of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and Queensland Senior Health Syllabus.

Early in the 2021 school year of Australian schooling, a groundswell of media attention resulted in calls for schools to address consent matters within the context of Respectful Relationships programs. The media attention was driven by young women who had been motivated to share their stories of harassment and assault on social media.
