Louis Ho
An active individual who enjoys sports and outdoor activities, he is a firm believer in the power of sports in transforming lives and the role sports play in building an active and inclusive community. Having taught PE for 18 years, both in a Junior College and Secondary School, one of the key appointments held was the Head of Department in PE/Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) for seven years. He has led the PE Department and school in designing and delivering multiple programmes that build his student's character and leadership through Sports and Outdoor Adventure. He was appointed PE Knowledgeable Others (PEKO) by Physical Education Sports Teachers Academy (PESTA) to share his experience in professional matters related to PE with the fraternity. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Maths, his love for Sports and Outdoor Education led him to pursue Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Specialisation in Physical Education & Maths). He subsequently completed his Masters of Science (Exercise & Sports Science) at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2012. Besides serving as a mentor for the Game for Life Certification (GFL) Programme under Coach SG, Louis also promotes professional standards and practices in PE by serving in Singapore Physical Education Association (SPEA) as the Vice President (Publication and Research). Louis has a keen interest in curriculum planning, outdoor education, assessment literacy, inquiry-based learning, affective learning in PE and Pedagogy. He looks forward to learning from others on how to make PE lessons more meaningful and engaging.
