Mark Ko
I am an American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 5 Certified Coach and SwimAmerica Instructor with over 20 years of experience in aquatics education and competitive swimming. I hold a Master’s degree in International Education and am an NSPF Certified Pool Operator, combining educational leadership with strong operational and safety expertise. Currently, I serve as the Administrative Aquatics Director, where I oversee and lead the full scope of the school’s aquatics program. My role includes designing and implementing a comprehensive K–12 aquatics pathway that integrates curriculum swimming, learn to swim instruction, competitive team development, after school programs and community based initiatives. I am responsible for program planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and ensuring alignment with international school standards and best practices. At the core of my work is a belief that a successful aquatics program must balance skill development, safety, student well-being and long-term athletic growth. I focus on building sustainable systems that support both participation based swimming and high performance pathways, while fostering a positive, inclusive environment where students can develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong connection to the water. With extensive experience in international school settings, I value collaboration with teachers, administrators, parents and coaches to create programs that reflect a school’s mission and core values. I am passionate about developing strong aquatics cultures through thoughtful leadership, clear progression models and professional coaching standards.
