Nurul Zafirah Binte Zailani
Nurul Zafirah Binte Zailani is the Activities at Height Coordinator at United World College Southeast Asia – East Campus, where she oversees the K–12 Climbing Programme across recreational and competitive levels. She works closely with coaches, Physical Education and Outdoor Education departments to ensure the safety, progression and quality of climbing and other height-based activities. In addition to Climbing, she oversees the High Ropes facilities and programmes that support Activities and the Physical Education curriculum. Since 2022, Zafirah has also served as a Climbing Coach, supporting students directly in their skill development, confidence and sporting journeys. She brings with her experience from multiple commercial climbing gyms and outdoor education environments, where she coached, assisted with curriculum design, developed staff training plans and managed programme delivery for diverse learner groups; from school children to working professionals. A trained radiographer, she applies precision and a strong focus on injury prevention into programme planning and execution. She recently completed a Specialist Diploma in Sport Science and Wellness and is specialising in Strength and Conditioning for Sport Climbing. Zafirah is also a qualified ACCT Level 1 Full Track Practitioner, strengthening her technical and safety competencies in height-based programming. Beyond work, she serves as a National Route Judge, committed to fair play and athlete experience in climbing competitions. She enjoys outdoor adventures and continues to expand her curiosity through reading and lifelong learning.
