Raspreet Sidhu

Central Head of Sports, Shiv Nadar School

Raspreet Sidhu is a former Captain of the Indian Women’s Basketball Team, international athlete, coach, and sports leader who represented India for nearly two decades. Beginning her international journey as a teenager, Raspreet went on to represent India across major international competitions, including three Asian Games (2010, 2014 and 2018) and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her international career spans both traditional 5x5 basketball and 3x3 basketball. FIBA records document her long-standing presence with the Indian senior national team, including appearances at the Asian Championships and Women’s Asia Cup. (FIBA Basketball⁠) She captained India in FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup campaigns in 2017, 2019 and 2023, and also led the Indian team at the Red Bull Half Court World Final in Cairo in 2022. In April 2023, she achieved the distinction of becoming India’s No. 1 ranked women’s 3x3 player. Her playing career includes two international medals and more than 25 national medals, alongside numerous individual honours. Beyond competing, Raspreet has dedicated much of her career to developing young athletes and strengthening school sport. She began coaching at St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, in 2010 and joined Shiv Nadar School in 2014. Her work helped build a basketball programme that has produced players at the India, State and District levels, while achieving sustained success in domestic and international school competitions. Her leadership subsequently expanded beyond basketball into broader sports development. As Head of Sports at Shiv Nadar School, she has worked across multiple campuses and sporting disciplines, focusing on structured athlete pathways, competitive exposure, coach development, sports scholarships and opportunities for students to train and compete internationally. Academically, Raspreet holds a degree in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College and a Master’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Delhi, where she was a Gold Medallist.
