Tim Baghurst

Director of FSU COACH: Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching, Florida State University

Timothy Baghurst is a full professor and the director of FSU COACH: Interdisciplinary Center of Athletic Coaching at Florida State University. His research and writing across sports, education, and leadership have led to more than 125 peer-reviewed articles, seven books, and many book chapters. He regularly speaks on these topics both nationally and internationally. His academic contributions have been recognized with fellow status from SHAPE America, the National Academy of Kinesiology, and the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education. Tim has engaged in many service and outreach activities and recently completed terms as vice president and then president of the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education. He has completed projects in collaboration with the NCAA, Milwaukee Bucks, USA Basketball, World Anti-Doping Agency, Nike Clinics, International Racquetball Federation, Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour, and many collegiate and private sports programs and coaches. He is an avid racquetball and pickleball player and coach, most recently serving as the head coach of the USA Racquetball Junior National Team.
