Tino Stöckel

Senior Researcher, Department of Sport Science/University of Rostock

Dr. Tino Stöckel is Head of the Sport & Exercise Psychology Lab at the University of Rostock, Germany. Prior to joining Rostock, he held research positions at the University of Leipzig, Bielefeld University, and the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. His current research interests include group development and cohesion as well as strategies to foster intrinsic motivation and positive learning experiences in educational and sport settings, alongside selected work on motor and cognitive development in preschool children. Alongside his academic work, Dr. Stöckel is an applied sport psychologist who supports athletes from a wide range of sports in achieving their performance goals, from personal milestones to success at World Championships and the Olympic Games. He has led and contributed to numerous research projects and has published extensively in the fields of motor development, sport and exercise psychology, and human movement science.
