This workshop illustrates how the PE teachers in Hougang Primary School sought to deepen students’ learning and strengthen their assessment literacy through e-Pedagogy.
In 2021, the school’s PE department piloted the use of a digital application, Seesaw, in all the Primary 1 and 2 classes, as well as one of the Primary 5 classes. Teachers found the functions in the application particularly useful in tracking their students’ learning progress throughout the year, and saw its potential in facilitating blended learning and formative assessment experiences. Building on the success of the pilot, the initiative was scaled up across all levels in 2022, to support the department goal of creating a digital PE portfolio for every student that captures the child’s PE experiences in the school from Primary 1 to 6.
During the workshop, participants will engage in hands-on experiences of using Seesaw, as well as try out the Metaverse application that the school also adopted for its Programme for Active Learning (PAL) and Outdoor Education (OE) curriculum.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to start a digital portfolio initiative in their classes using the ICT tools and understand the varying considerations related to its implementation.
