Track and field sometimes gets a reputation for being repetitive or intimidating, especially for younger or less confident students. This presentation will focus on innovative and practical approaches to teach the fundamentals of track and field in a fun, challenging and engaging way. I will draw on my experience as both a PHE teacher in the IB curriculum and a track and field coach to share learning experiences that build core track and field skills while keeping students motivated and active. In addition to practical activity ideas, we will also discuss best practices for differentiation, formative assessment, and creating an inclusive environment that allows all students to experience success.
