This presentation challenges the traditional perception of dance as a skill to master and instead repositions it as a lifelong practice of movement, awareness, and well-being. Dance is not merely an art form performed on stage—it is an intrinsic part of how we inhabit and experience our bodies in daily life.
Drawing on interdisciplinary movement principles from Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, Gyrotonic, Yoga, and Pilates, this session explores how dance educators can nurture students holistically—fostering breath awareness, strength, and flow to create sustainable movement habits. Participants will gain practical strategies for guiding students beyond technique, helping them develop a deeply embodied, injury-free, and expressive approach to movement that extends beyond the class room into everyday life.
Through interactive movement exercises, video demonstrations, and case studies, attendees will experience firsthand how movement can become a personal language of self-awareness, resilience, and creative expression. This session is designed for dance teachers, movement educators, and anyone interested in a holistic approach to dance training that honors the individuality of every body.
