Why do some students fully embrace Physical Education while others simply comply with participation? This is a question we will always have and that is why this interactive session explores how educators can intentionally design meaningful movement experiences that foster motivation, belonging, and lifelong engagement in physical activity. Grounded in principles of physical literacy and evidence-informed practice, participants will examine how autonomy, appropriate challenge, and student agency influence the way young people experience movement in diverse school settings.
Through collaborative discussion, lesson redesign, and reflection on authentic classroom scenarios, participants will explore a practical framework for creating PE lessons that move beyond skill acquisition to cultivate meaningful participation for every learner. Attendees will leave with immediately applicable strategies to strengthen engagement, build inclusive learning environments, and design experiences that inspire students not only to participate in Physical Education but to value movement throughout their lives.
