This session will explore how student leadership can move beyond token roles into authentic, high-impact experiences through the creation of a student-led leadership society and how they have made their society high-achieving with qualifications, charity drives, IWD representations and creating wider links in Singapore by delivering a student-led conference.
I will share how a student leadership society was developed within the school to empower students with real responsibility, ownership, and voice. This culminated in a large-scale student leadership conference, planned and delivered by students for students, bringing together over 100 participants from international schools.
The session will provide a practical framework for:
- Building and sustaining a student leadership society
- Transitioning from teacher-led to student-led models
- Structuring meaningful leadership opportunities
- Facilitating student-led events with real-world impact
Attendees will leave with clear, actionable strategies to implement in their own contexts, as well as insights into the challenges, successes, and transformative impact of giving students genuine leadership opportunities.
