Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in international schools, yet it can be one of the most challenging to teach in a PE class as engagement in the sport often favors those most skilled. In this active session, we will explore how the Meaningful PE framework can be effectively applied through a range of small-sided games, and modified activities with multiple entry points. This is an active session is focussed on volleyball but principles can be effectively applied for other sports and activities as well.
We are not all fortunate enough to have full-sized gymnasiums and net set-ups, so practical adaptations and resources for space will be shared, as well as equipment suggestions to better engage our little ones.
Participants will leave with ready-to-use activities, teaching cues and unit design ideas that will increase student and athlete participation and enjoyment.
