Rough-Housing is a term for interactive, physical games – often competitive but also often collaborative – that form a big part of the healthy development found within every child’s play.
We now know that during rough-and-tumble play, kids’ brains are treated to a healthy boost of stimulation that will not only lead to stronger intellectual and social development but will help them learn to regulate their emotional responses as well.
One resource you always have during a PE session is the kids themselves, and with a few simple partner games and activities you can make any PE session fun, challenging, engaging and, most importantly, connective.
In this session you will learn our system of introducing a range of short, simple partner and group games that require nothing but the children themselves. We build up the physicality gradually, helping them learn how to engage physically with others in a mutually beneficial way, building functional strength, mobility and agility while also creating social connections and boosting cognitive ability.
No equipment or special gear required, just an open space and bags of energy!
