Rick Bunnell is a longtime international educator, with twenty-five years of experience both as a teacher and a principal. Originally from Boston, Rick has spent most of the last three decades working in overseas schools, serving as a middle and high school social studies teacher in the Caribbean and then in Barcelona, Spain. After getting his Masters Degree in Education Administration in 1999, he served as a middle school principal at international schools in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and China, and at a private school in Florida. Rick came to know his current employer, Dragonfly Ltd., while serving as the Middle School Principal at the American International School of Guangzhou, and participated with his students on a number of Dragonfly programs. It was through this experience that he developed an interest in outdoor education and understood its potential to have a significant impact on students. He has served as Dragonfly's Director of Education for the past three years, and his belief in the power of outdoor learning as a catalyst for building character in individuals has only increased during this time.
