Leadership within international education is challenging due to the complexities of cultural differences among staff. This study compares and contrasts the expectations of a Director of Sport (DoS) held by Chinese and British-trained Physical Education (PE) teachers in a bilingual school in Hangzhou, China. Leadership is examined through an interpretivist paradigm, acknowledging the subjective nature of cultural influences on expectations. Factors such as hierarchy, decision-making, and communication are considered.
