Outdoor experiential education often provides students with their most impactful and memorable educational experiences and as a result, most schools include outdoor learning as part of their program. Despite this, outdoor learning is frequently considered to be an ‘add-on’ and therefore fails to make the most of the time, energy and money invested by stakeholders in what can be a high-risk element of the school year.
This session will evaluate the essential elements of the most impactful outdoor experiential learning, allow participants to reflect on their own experience, and leave with some tools to positively influence their own school and management to optimise delivery in their school.
