Language is the access point for students to fully engage and learn in Physical Education classes. Without adequate language ability, students often miss key information when learning new content and concepts which impacts their learning.
In this session, we will explore effective strategies that can be implemented to remove language barriers, support language development and enhance students‚ Overall learning in PE classes. Participants will learn new strategies that can be implemented immediately in practical and theory lessons and can be adapted to a range of different grade levels. Participants will also gain access to student friendly resources that can used in their own classes. This session is aimed at PE teachers who have English Language Learners in their classes or teach at International or Bilingual schools. Whether you are a seasoned Physical Educator or teaching English Language Learners for the first time, this session is sure to give you some new strategies to add to your repertoire.
