TPSR is a value-based model that aligns with best practices for developing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies. TPSR been proven to be effective in a variety of contexts including school-based physical education and after-school sports and community-based programs because it provides a supportive, principles-based framework that empowers young people. To ensure that responsibilities truly become themes throughout the program, it is necessary to create and follow a daily program format—a daily curricular or programmatic structure for TPSR lessons. As teachers begin to explore and implement TPSR, the process can at first be a little daunting. The good news is that learning through doing is an effective way to develop a TPSR-based program. Join Dr Stuart Evans for this interactive workshop that explores effective TPSR lesson planning and practical activities that embed TPSR into practice.
Note: This workshop is designed as a continuous learning experience across Part 1 and Part 2, with a break in between. To get the full benefit, attendance at both parts is recommended, as the content builds upon itself.
