What if the purpose of physical education was greater than the sum of its parts? What if teaching physical education made learning and lives joyful and meaningful? Let’s explore.
Unleash the power of play in your physical education classes with this high-energy, interactive workshop designed to make fitness fun and engaging for all students.
This session draws from David’s research into assessment rubrics designed for use in invasion games at Year Levels 7-10 (ages 13-16) by a population of Australian secondary school PE teachers.
In an era where artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how we access and understand health information, this workshop explores how educators can equip students with the skills to critically evaluate AI-generated content and use AI tools to support their physical and mental well-being.
In this session, participants will also have the opportunity to practice group session planning & delivery.
In this session you will learn how to Integrate Ultimate Frisbee into Your Curriculum – From Beginner to Competitive.
This presentation draws on original research into informal sport to challenge foundational assumptions about how we resource and support people for a lifetime in sport.
Participants will experience the fundamental throwing and catching skills, simple partner challenges, engaging minigames and the official 3-vs-3 RingCross game.
In the practical, half the group plays or practices a skill while the other half observes and speaks feedback into Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT against a sample rubric. Then they swap. The last 20 minutes is a roundtable on how PE teachers are using AI in their schools. (Alternatively, I could present on additional ways I use AI such as ensuring standard alignment and unit and lesson plan refinement).
