This interactive session will give attendees the opportunity to be involved in creating a sense of belonging as part of a group/community/team.
This session aims to provide accessible starting points for schools beginning their journey in this important field. Additionally, it will offer dedicated planning time and encourage meaningful discussions for schools that are further along in their development.
Walk away from this workshop with a deeper understanding of the consent continuum, an updated resource bank, some ready-to-use learning activities, and ideas for developing a skills-based unit that is responsive to diverse, multilingual learners.
A discussion, based in salutogenic principles, will include opportunities to reflect on pedagogies (e.g. skills-based, humanizing, culturally responsive/sustaining) and practices that can improve well-being and thriving for students in school settings.
In this presentation, we will look at examples of how Health and Physical Education from K-10 and sport coaching ‘at the leading edge’ is responding to current challenges.
In this presentation I will show that, while there are indeed many elements of good pedagogy in Meaningful PE, a key distinction lies in the explicit and intentional use of meaningful experiences to inform how teachers work with students.
In this hands-on workshop, attendees will concentrate on the transformative potential of mobile devices, such as iPads and Android Tablets, within the PE classroom. Please bring a mobile device and be prepared to download the necessary apps before the workshop begins (a list will be provided beforehand). Note that there may be an additional cost of approximately $20 for a few select apps.
