Jump Starts 2015


Jump starts are morning exercise activities that make full use of the beautiful natural environment to get your blood pumping and body and mind ready for a day of learning. Many of the sessions have capped numbers so register for the conference early to ensure you get your spot!


Kayaking

Enjoy a dawn paddle on beautiful Tai Tam Bay using extremely stable sit-on top kayaks. A perfect way to start the day! No prior experience required. Places are very limited so book early!

Spinning

Pedal your way to a fitter you! Come spinning with Vangie Wimbush! Spin class is an opportunity to challenge your body and mind, and with upbeat, motivating music and an enthusiastic instructor, you will have fun as you become healthier and happier!

Weights

Test out your muscles in the HKIS Weights Room under the expert coaching of Ian Wilson and Primal Strength! A blend of conventional and fundamental strength movements executed in a group environment. Get strong and lean with Primal Strength… Suitable for anyone who has prior experience in the Weights Room.

Ropes Course

Series of outdoor elements made up of wires and poles, and other equipment designed to create unique and challenging problem solving scenarios. Teams work together to negotiate the elements and successfully meet the challenges presented.


Pilates


Mountain Run

Join fellow runners in the beautiful Tai Tam Country Park for a morning trail run lasting approximately 45 minutes. Prospective participants should be comfortable running on trails with inclines and stairs

Be put through your paces with a grueling swim set from Master Swim Coach Luke Wimbush. Open to anyone – swim set approx. 3K!

Bootcamp on the Beach

Using the Nike+ Training Club app with over 100 full-body workouts developed by Nike professional trainers. Built from dozens of multi-dimensional drills, these workouts are inspired by world-class athletes and based on years on Nike research, helping you get lean, toned and strong with audio guidance from Utah Lee, Nike Global Master Trainer. You will experience high intensity cardio workouts, power/strength training combos plus speed and agility drills.

Pickup Basketball

Get that early morning burn with a run on the basketball court! A 150-pound individual burns about 272 calories playing a 30-minute game of basketball. Doing the same exercise, someone weighing 100 pounds burns 181 calories and someone weighing 200 pounds burns 363 calories. This works out roughly to 91 calories burned per 50 pounds of weight per 30 minutes. So whether you are in it for a morning burn or whether you just want to start the day with some social exercise, join us!
